Programming Microsoft Visual J++ 6.0 Stephen R. Davis PDF

Take the fast route to Win32® development with Visual J++ 6.0. With Microsoft’s powerfully enhanced Visual J++ development system for Java, programmers can exploit full Win32 functionality in a highly flexible, high-yield visual development environment. And with PROGRAMMING MICROSOFT VISUAL J++ 6.0, you get comprehensive descriptions of these new features and capabilities—including a thorough introduction to the state-of-the-art Windows® Foundation Classes for Java (WFC). • Discover how the WFC library’s rich encapsulation of the Windows API simplifies key phases of application development • Expedite development with the Forms Designer—and cut programming time dramatically • Use the Just-in-Time Compiler to launch applications that run as fast as those built with Microsoft Visual C++® • Create your own ActiveX® controls that are accessible from other Microsoft Visual Studio® programming languages • Exploit Visual J++ support for accessing and manipulating data in SQL databases such as Microsoft Access and Microsoft SQL Server™ • Access Win32 API functions using either J/Direct™ or JNI Aimed at intermediate-level Java developers or those who are retooling their Microsoft Visual Basic®, Microsoft Visual C++, or related programming skills, this core resource offers in-depth information and instructive, reusable code examples for rapid development of Windows and Web solutions. A special online addendum is available in which the author discusses how to enable and disable Microsoft language extensions to Java, how to use Sun Microsystems’ Java Native Interface (JNI) from within Microsoft Visual J++ 6.0, and demonstrates sample solutions. An electronic version of this book is available on the companion CD.
