Essays In Late Ottoman To Post-Ottoman Intellectual Hıstory Vol. II Son Dönem Osmanlı’sından Osmanlı Sonrasına Entelektüel Tarih Üzerine Makaleler II. Cilt Bilinmeyen PDF

Recent scholarship in late Ottoman and post-Ottoman studies increasingly highlights transregional connections and the complex relationships between ideas, identities, and political authority, moving beyond nation-centered narratives toward a more entangled intellectual history. Essays in Late Ottoman to Post-Ottoman Intellectual History, Vol. II brings together original studies in Turkish and English that reflect this broader perspective. The volume examines the transnational transfer of liberal and nationalist ideas in the post-Tanzimat Balkans, the intellectual life of late Ottoman Jerusalem, and the voices of Armenian women writers. Through figures ranging from Ahmet Midhat Efendi to Ziya Gökalp and Yakup Kadri, it also explores the often ambivalent relationship between intellectuals and the state during periods of crisis and transformation. Together, these essays offer a concise yet nuanced portrait of intellectual life in a changing Ottoman and post-Ottoman world.
